This project involved the design and construction of a watewater treatment plant (WWTP) for the District of Port Hardy in British Columbia. Tritech used its expertise as a water infrastructure specialist to use the design/build delivery method to construct and design the facility.
District of Port Hardy c/o EPCOR
Tritech’s scope of work for this project included:
- Upgrading the existing extended aeration plant from 1,500 m3 to 6,150 m3
- Adding a new SBR plant, installing new headworks (rated for 11,200 m3), and upgrading the effluent pump station.
- Installing a UV disinfectant system, an emergency genset generator, and other mechanical and electrical upgrades.
Tritech was required to maintain the operations of the existing WWTP during the construction period. Poor ground conditions also created an additional challenge and required Tritech to conduct soil densification operations.
